About half of Brentwood's homes went up between 1970 and 1999, Census Bureau survey numbers show. Six in 10 have nine or more rooms. A house that size has more fixtures and drains to wear out, and a water heater that works hard. On lots of an acre or more, the water and sewer lines can run a long way to the street.
Stop The Drip is a plumbing company serving Nashville, La Vergne and Middle Tennessee. Brentwood is part of our service area, on both sides of I-65. For Brentwood homes, we handle drain cleaning, leak repair, water heaters, gas lines and backflow devices. Call or text (615) 723-2488, and we look at the job and put the quote in writing.

Brentwood grew from 37,060 people in 2010 to 45,373 in 2020, by Census counts. The Census Bureau's latest estimate is about the same. Permits for new houses ran about 100 to 130 a year over the last three years. Most plumbing work here happens in homes that already stand.
Those homes run older than Williamson County's as a whole. The median Brentwood home was built in 1996, against 2002 countywide. Only about 18 percent went up in 2010 or later, compared with about 31 percent across the county.
Nearly nine in 10 Brentwood homes are detached houses, and three in four have four or more bedrooms. City rules rest on what Brentwood calls a minimum one-acre density, and R-2 lots must be at least an acre. About seven in 10 homes heat with piped natural gas, against about half countywide. We install new gas lines for ranges, dryers, grills, fire pits and generators, and we repair and pressure-test old ones.
Brentwood buys its water already treated. The city's latest water quality report traces it to the Cumberland River. Metro Water Services and Harpeth Valley Utilities District supply it to the city. The city's Water Services Department maintains more than 225 miles of water lines.
The same report puts hardness at an average of 98 parts per million. That falls in the U.S. Geological Survey's moderately hard range. The USGS notes that heated hard water can leave scale in a water heater and shorten its life. Flushing out sediment is part of our water heater repair work.
The water report calls the line from the meter to your home the private side. A 2024 city inventory found no lead service lines on either side of the meter. The city's rough-in checklist for new houses includes a check for a pressure regulating valve, or PRV. When that valve wears out, pressure can creep up, and replacing it is part of our water line work.
Yes. The city's cross-connection guidelines say all residential lawn irrigation systems require an approved backflow prevention device. Pools and hot tubs can bring the rule into play too. A pool filled through a hard pipe needs a reduced pressure assembly at minimum.
The city's codes office inspects a new assembly through the plumbing permit process, and it must pass a first test. After that, a tester with a state Certificate of Competency tests it at least every 12 months. Each year, the city also checks high water use against its list of backflow devices. A home that seems to water a lawn with no device on file gets a closer look.
The device is there to stop sprinkler water from flowing back into city pipes. The guidelines also call for protecting assemblies from freezing. In the December 2022 cold snap, highs at the Nashville airport stayed below freezing for days. Through our backflow prevention work, we install new devices and replace failed ones.
Many Brentwood homes use a low-pressure sewer instead of a gravity line, the city says. A grinder pump in a tank pumps the sewage out to the city's sewer lines. The homeowner owns the whole system: the pump, the tank, the controls and the piping out to the public main. Installing a new grinder pump, or moving one, takes a plumbing permit from the city.
For homes in the city's maintenance program, the city services the tank's contents and the control panel. The line from the house to the pump well, and on to the right-of-way, is the owner's. The city says the same about gravity sewer lines and water service lines. We clear clogged house drains, and our sewer line repair covers broken lines on your side.
Digging for a repair starts with a Tennessee 811 locate request, at least three working days ahead under state law. Tennessee 811 notes that private lines, like the water or sewer line to your home, may not get marked. Federal soil maps show clay-rich soils over limestone across much of Brentwood, with rock near the surface in places.

Called the business and was able to get a same day appointment for my clogged kitchen drain and broken garbage disposal. They replaced the garbage disposal and did a hydro jetting. Throughout the process Freddie was very professional, friendly, and informative. He let me know all the steps of the process, gave options and his recommendations. At the end of the day, everything is fixed and he performed multiple tests to verify their work. Overall satisfied with this company .
We found a water leak lastnight , messaged stop the drip and they came out this morning at 8am. Found the leak, explained to us what happed, fixed it & referred us to someone for restoration and they are already on the way here to help us. An hr and a half later. I’m so so happy with my experience and will definitely be recommending them to anyone looking for a plumber.
I rarely leave reviews, but Freddy from Stop The Drip LLC absolutely earned this one. I’ve worked with a lot of plumbers over the years, and honestly, most of the time you can’t even get a callback. Good communication and reliability seem rare these days. That’s why working with Freddy was such an outstanding experience. I called him on a Sunday afternoon, and he actually answered the phone. He told me he’d be there Monday afternoon, then followed up Monday morning to let me know exactly when he would arrive and showed up right on time. Not only was his communication and professionalism top notch, but he was also able to quickly find exactly what was wrong and take care of the issue without any hassle. It’s hard to find service like this anymore. I’ll definitely be recommending Freddy from Stop The Drip LLC to everyone I know, and he is officially my go to plumber for all my plumbing needs moving forward.
Freddy came out to work on our hot water tank. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me and my husband.. he did an excellent job fixed everything I recommend Highly
