In Gallatin, the age of the house shapes the plumbing problem. Historic Woodson Terrace went up from the late 1800s to the mid-1900s, and old pipe there can rust through. Out along Nashville Pike and Big Station Camp Boulevard, new subdivisions keep going up. Census figures put the median year built at 2004, so about half the city's homes are past 20 years old.
Stop The Drip serves homes across Nashville and Middle Tennessee, and Gallatin is part of our service area. Here we fix clogged drains and running toilets, and we handle water heater repair too. We look at the job and put the quote in writing. If you need a plumber in Gallatin, call or text (615) 723-2488.

Gallatin is growing fast. The Census counted 30,278 people in 2010 and 44,431 in 2020. The bureau's latest estimate is 54,590, and about four in ten homes here were built in 2010 or later.
The city's planning page shows more on the way. The Paddock at Kennesaw Farms plans 632 single-family lots east of Big Station Camp Boulevard. Nexus Tennessee, north of Red River Road, plans 1,350 more. A new house still needs a plumber when a water heater quits or a toilet runs nonstop.
The Woodson Terrace and East Main Street historic districts sit near downtown. Citywide, about one home in five was built before 1970. Old drain and sewer pipe can crack, and tree roots find their way in. When the line to the city sewer fails, our sewer line repair work replaces the broken section.
Gallatin Public Utilities pumps the city's water from an intake on Old Hickory Lake, part of the Cumberland River. The utility says iron in the water can settle inside pipes and water heaters. Stirred loose, it turns water rusty, and in seldom-used lines it can smell like rotten eggs.
The utility suggests draining and cleaning your water heater at least once a year to cut sediment. We flush out sediment and replace worn parts like elements and thermostats.
The utility says a leak on your side of the water meter is yours to repair. It finished a lead service line inventory in 2024, and its online map shows what it knows about your line. If the map flags your side, replacing that pipe is your call. We handle water line replacement from the meter to the house.
Gallatin Public Utilities also runs a natural gas system, with about 11,500 customers on 361 miles of pipe. Census figures show about four in ten Gallatin homes heat with utility gas. Past the meter, the utility says, the gas piping to and inside the house is the customer's to maintain. So are the gas appliances.
The utility recommends checking buried metal gas lines between the meter and the house for leaks and corrosion. NRCS soil data rates most of the soil under Gallatin at moderate or high risk of corroding uncoated steel. Our gas line installation and repair covers new lines for a range or a grill and fixes on old ones.
In the utility's service area, the city's Building Codes Department took over gas line permits and inspections in April 2020. The city's list of typical inspections calls for an air test on new gas piping before it is covered.
A broken water or sewer line often means digging. NRCS soil data puts about half of Gallatin on Harpeth silt loam, a deep soil over limestone. Mimosa soils carry firm clay, with limestone 40 to 60 inches down. In rocky Barfield pockets, bedrock can sit within 20 inches of the surface.
The city lists inspections for both buried lines. The building sewer, from two feet outside the house to the public sewer, is inspected before it is covered. The water service, from the city stop valve to the building, gets the same check.
Before anyone digs, Tennessee law calls for a locate ticket through Tennessee 811 at least three working days ahead. Utility locators mark their own lines only, so the private lines on your side go unmarked. Inside city limits, the Building Codes Department answers permit questions for your address.

Called the business and was able to get a same day appointment for my clogged kitchen drain and broken garbage disposal. They replaced the garbage disposal and did a hydro jetting. Throughout the process Freddie was very professional, friendly, and informative. He let me know all the steps of the process, gave options and his recommendations. At the end of the day, everything is fixed and he performed multiple tests to verify their work. Overall satisfied with this company .
We found a water leak lastnight , messaged stop the drip and they came out this morning at 8am. Found the leak, explained to us what happed, fixed it & referred us to someone for restoration and they are already on the way here to help us. An hr and a half later. I’m so so happy with my experience and will definitely be recommending them to anyone looking for a plumber.
I rarely leave reviews, but Freddy from Stop The Drip LLC absolutely earned this one. I’ve worked with a lot of plumbers over the years, and honestly, most of the time you can’t even get a callback. Good communication and reliability seem rare these days. That’s why working with Freddy was such an outstanding experience. I called him on a Sunday afternoon, and he actually answered the phone. He told me he’d be there Monday afternoon, then followed up Monday morning to let me know exactly when he would arrive and showed up right on time. Not only was his communication and professionalism top notch, but he was also able to quickly find exactly what was wrong and take care of the issue without any hassle. It’s hard to find service like this anymore. I’ll definitely be recommending Freddy from Stop The Drip LLC to everyone I know, and he is officially my go to plumber for all my plumbing needs moving forward.
Freddy came out to work on our hot water tank. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me and my husband.. he did an excellent job fixed everything I recommend Highly
