In Spring Hill, a running toilet can cost you twice. The city bills sewer by the water your meter records, at a higher rate than the water itself. A slow drip under a sink adds to both lines of the bill until someone fixes it.
Stop The Drip is a plumbing company for homes across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Spring Hill is part of our service area, on both sides of the Maury County and Williamson County line. We handle leak detection and repair, water heater repair, clogged drains, toilets, faucets and gas lines. When you need a plumber in Spring Hill, call or text (615) 723-2488.
Tell us about the clog, leak, water heater or fixture and where it is. We look at the job and put the quote in writing.
The city's own history credits the auto plant with turning a farm town into a city. Census counts show Spring Hill grew from 29,036 people in 2010 to 50,005 in 2020. The latest estimate tops 61,000. More than 600 new single-family homes were permitted in both 2021 and 2022, per Census permit data.
That growth shows in the houses. Half the homes in Spring Hill were built in 2009 or later, per Census estimates. About 82 percent date from 2000 or later, and fewer than 1 in 20 predates 1990. Three in four are single-family detached houses.
A Department of Energy guide puts a tank water heater's life at 10 to 15 years. One that came with a 2009 home is 17 years old now. If yours leaks or runs short on hot water, we check it first. Then we tell you whether a repair or water heater replacement makes more sense.
Spring Hill Water treats water from the Duck River at the city's own plant. The city says it is brushing up against its limits on what it can take from the river. Its answer includes a plan to purify treated wastewater and use it again. New storage tanks also went up in the Arbor Valley neighborhood and the June Lake community.
Summer is peak season, so the city runs an odd and even watering schedule from May 1 to September 30. Even and odd house numbers water outdoors on different days. Friday is a non-watering day, so the city's reservoirs can refill.
Spring Hill Water offers a separate irrigation meter, so lawn water skips the sewer charge. The city does not install the backflow device that goes with it; that is up to the homeowner. Our backflow preventer installation covers that part.
Spring Hill sits in two counties. About two in three residents live on the Williamson County side, per Census counts. City Hall and Rippa Villa sit on the Maury County side.
Inside city limits, permits come from the City of Spring Hill's Development Services department. It keeps a plumbing permit form and a mechanical and gas form. The gas form has sections for gas lines and for water heaters, gas or electric.
The city's FAQ says permits apply when anyone installs, alters, repairs or replaces a plumbing or gas system. Homes are inspected to the 2018 International Residential Code. Ask the codes office what your job needs before work starts.
The city's Water Reclamation Division maintains more than 150 miles of sewer lines and a treatment plant. It enforces a grease ordinance on food businesses to prevent stoppages. Grease poured down a kitchen sink clogs a home drain the same way.
The ground matters when a line breaks. The most common soil in the city is Maury silt loam, per NRCS soil maps. It runs deep, with clay below the topsoil and limestone 5 feet or more down. In other spots, NRCS maps Gladeville soil, with bedrock about 3 to 12 inches down.
A trench through that rocky ground can mean cutting stone. Before any dig, Tennessee law calls for a locate ticket through Tennessee 811 at least three working days ahead. Utilities mark their own lines only, not private lines on your lot. When a line breaks or fills with roots, we quote sewer line repair in writing first.

Called the business and was able to get a same day appointment for my clogged kitchen drain and broken garbage disposal. They replaced the garbage disposal and did a hydro jetting. Throughout the process Freddie was very professional, friendly, and informative. He let me know all the steps of the process, gave options and his recommendations. At the end of the day, everything is fixed and he performed multiple tests to verify their work. Overall satisfied with this company .
We found a water leak lastnight , messaged stop the drip and they came out this morning at 8am. Found the leak, explained to us what happed, fixed it & referred us to someone for restoration and they are already on the way here to help us. An hr and a half later. I’m so so happy with my experience and will definitely be recommending them to anyone looking for a plumber.
I rarely leave reviews, but Freddy from Stop The Drip LLC absolutely earned this one. I’ve worked with a lot of plumbers over the years, and honestly, most of the time you can’t even get a callback. Good communication and reliability seem rare these days. That’s why working with Freddy was such an outstanding experience. I called him on a Sunday afternoon, and he actually answered the phone. He told me he’d be there Monday afternoon, then followed up Monday morning to let me know exactly when he would arrive and showed up right on time. Not only was his communication and professionalism top notch, but he was also able to quickly find exactly what was wrong and take care of the issue without any hassle. It’s hard to find service like this anymore. I’ll definitely be recommending Freddy from Stop The Drip LLC to everyone I know, and he is officially my go to plumber for all my plumbing needs moving forward.
Freddy came out to work on our hot water tank. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me and my husband.. he did an excellent job fixed everything I recommend Highly
