In Mount Juliet, a running toilet costs you twice. West Wilson Utility District bills the water it wastes. For homes on city sewer, the city then bills sewer from that same water reading. A dripping faucet or a slow leak under a sink can add to both bills.

Mount Juliet sits between Percy Priest Lake and Old Hickory Lake, about 17 miles east of downtown Nashville. The city grew from 23,671 people at the 2010 Census to 39,289 in 2020. Census Bureau permit counts show 417 new single-family homes authorized last year, up from 225 the year before.
The typical home here was built around 2006, and about two in three went up in 2000 or later. About one in five dates from before 1990. Big subdivisions such as Willoughby Station and Kelsey Glen are mostly built out. The city's map still lists Hickory Hills as under construction.
A house from the early 2010s may still have its first water heater. When that tank starts leaking or runs short on hot water, we handle water heater replacement. More than half the homes in the city heat with utility gas, so gas piping is common here. We also install and repair gas lines for appliances such as ranges and dryers.
West Wilson Utility District supplies water in Mount Juliet. The district takes it from Old Hickory Lake, part of the Cumberland River system, and treats it at its plant. Its locators mark the district's lines before a dig, but not the line from your meter to your house. The district calls that one customer-owned.
So a leak between the meter and the house is yours to fix. We handle water line repair on that stretch of pipe. Before anyone digs, Tennessee law calls for a locate ticket through Tennessee 811 at least three working days ahead.
The city runs the sewer system, and some homes sit on a pressure line with a grinder pump. If the grinder's red light flashes or sewage backs up, the city asks you to call its sewer department. Clogs in the drains inside the house are ours to clear with drain cleaning. The city's pretreatment staff warn that warm grease hardens as it cools and can block sewer lines.
Much of Mount Juliet sits on shallow limestone. USDA soil maps put more than a third of the city in Talbott or Gladeville soils. In those soils, limestone lies about 3 to 40 inches below the surface. Gladeville is the thin, rocky ground where red cedars grow.
That rock shapes sewer line repair and water line work here. A trench can hit limestone on one lot and miss it on the next. We look at the line and the ground before we quote the dig.
Cedar Creek and Stoners Creek both run through the city. Low ground along the city's creeks maps as floodplain soil that floods now and then. At its highest, the water table there can sit about 15 inches down. If your crawl space holds water after heavy rain, we can install a sump pump to move it out.
Inside the city limits, the city's Building and Codes Department works from the 2018 International Plumbing Code. It uses the 2018 International Fuel Gas Code for gas work. Its permit rule covers installing, altering, repairing or replacing a plumbing or gas system. The department can tell you what your job needs.
A Mount Juliet mailing address does not always mean the city limits. Most of the land in the 37122 ZIP code lies outside them. For permits, those addresses go to the Wilson County Building Codes Department instead.
In a long freeze, West Wilson Utility District suggests a small overnight trickle from pipes that tend to freeze. It also suggests opening sink cabinet doors so room heat reaches the pipes. If a pipe freezes anyway, shut off the water before you thaw it. Freezing can crack a pipe or joint out of sight, so check for leaks once it thaws.

Called the business and was able to get a same day appointment for my clogged kitchen drain and broken garbage disposal. They replaced the garbage disposal and did a hydro jetting. Throughout the process Freddie was very professional, friendly, and informative. He let me know all the steps of the process, gave options and his recommendations. At the end of the day, everything is fixed and he performed multiple tests to verify their work. Overall satisfied with this company .
We found a water leak lastnight , messaged stop the drip and they came out this morning at 8am. Found the leak, explained to us what happed, fixed it & referred us to someone for restoration and they are already on the way here to help us. An hr and a half later. I’m so so happy with my experience and will definitely be recommending them to anyone looking for a plumber.
I rarely leave reviews, but Freddy from Stop The Drip LLC absolutely earned this one. I’ve worked with a lot of plumbers over the years, and honestly, most of the time you can’t even get a callback. Good communication and reliability seem rare these days. That’s why working with Freddy was such an outstanding experience. I called him on a Sunday afternoon, and he actually answered the phone. He told me he’d be there Monday afternoon, then followed up Monday morning to let me know exactly when he would arrive and showed up right on time. Not only was his communication and professionalism top notch, but he was also able to quickly find exactly what was wrong and take care of the issue without any hassle. It’s hard to find service like this anymore. I’ll definitely be recommending Freddy from Stop The Drip LLC to everyone I know, and he is officially my go to plumber for all my plumbing needs moving forward.
Freddy came out to work on our hot water tank. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me and my husband.. he did an excellent job fixed everything I recommend Highly
